From 1956, the actors of the various member countries of the European Union met to publish the first rules of the potato trade.
Today, the rules and practices of the inter-European trade in potatoes (RUCIP) are regularly updated by the members of the EUROPATAT congress.
They govern the vast majority of international trade in the market.

For the onion trade, trade is regulated by COFREUROP. This organization identifies clear rules for this trade and it has an arbitral jurisdiction capable of settling any disputes.
